Using YanBo Practice Portal

These Terms explain the basic rules for using YanBo Practice Portal, an online 11+ practice portal for English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

1. About YanBo Practice Portal

YanBo Practice Portal is provided by YANBO LEARNING LTD, company number 17335228, a private company limited by shares and registered in England and Wales.

Registered office: Flat 17, 33 Notte Street, Plymouth, PL1 2AZ, England.

The portal provides online 11+ practice materials, including practice tests, explanations, progress tracking, review tools and Build a Test features for eligible members.

2. Who can use the portal

YanBo Practice Portal is intended for pupils preparing for the 11+, with support from parents, guardians, carers or teachers where needed.

Children should use the portal with appropriate adult awareness and support, especially when creating accounts or using paid membership features.

Accounts used by children should be created or supervised by a parent or guardian.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account. Users are responsible for keeping login details secure and for making sure account information is accurate.

If you believe an account has been accessed without permission, please contact us as soon as possible.

4. Membership plans

YanBo Practice Portal offers free, monthly and annual membership options. Access to features depends on the user’s current plan.

  • Free users can access selected practice areas.
  • Monthly members can access the wider practice features included in the monthly plan.
  • Annual members can access the wider practice features included in the annual plan.
  • Build a Test features are available to eligible paid members and admin users.

Current prices, billing frequency and included features are shown before purchase.

We may change prices, features or membership options for future purchases or renewal periods. Where a change would affect an existing paid membership, we will provide reasonable notice before the change takes effect so that the account holder can decide whether to continue or cancel before the relevant renewal. Nothing in this section affects statutory rights.

5. Payments, renewals, cancellation and refunds

Monthly and Annual memberships renew automatically until cancelled. The price and billing frequency are shown before purchase.

Payments and subscription billing are processed through Stripe.

You may cancel a membership at any time through Manage Billing on the Membership page. Cancellation stops automatic renewal. Unless a refund is issued or the law requires otherwise, paid access normally continues until the end of the current paid billing period.

Cancelling automatic renewal is separate from exercising any statutory right to cancel a recently entered consumer contract.

Where applicable under consumer law, a consumer may have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The cancellation period and any effect of requesting immediate access to the service depend on the type of supply and the circumstances of the purchase.

If you ask us to begin providing a service during a statutory cancellation period, the law may allow us to charge for the proportion of the service already supplied before cancellation. Where the law provides that a cancellation right can be lost following express consent to immediate supply of digital content, this will only apply where the required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.

Information about any applicable statutory cancellation right, including any effect of requesting immediate access, will be made available as part of the purchase process where required by law.

Refund or statutory cancellation requests can be sent to:

support@yanbo.co.uk

Outside any applicable statutory cancellation or refund right, payments are normally non-refundable unless we agree otherwise. This does not affect any refund, price reduction or other remedy that the law requires us to provide.

Where a refund is issued, the membership may be cancelled immediately and paid access may end at that time. Refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method where applicable.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights.

6. Cancellation form

Where you have a statutory right to cancel, you may tell us clearly that you wish to cancel by emailing support@yanbo.co.uk. You may also use the following cancellation form. You do not have to use this form if another clear statement of cancellation is provided.

7. Educational content and examination outcomes

YanBo Practice Portal is a supplementary educational practice resource designed to support children preparing for 11+ and related assessments. It is not a school, examination board or substitute for professional teaching or advice.

We take reasonable care when preparing and reviewing our questions, answers and explanations, and we aim to investigate and correct reported issues promptly. However, educational content may occasionally contain errors or omissions, and the wording, syllabus and requirements used by individual schools and examination providers may vary.

Parents and guardians should use their own judgement when deciding whether particular material is suitable for their child and, where appropriate, check important information against guidance provided by the relevant school or examination provider.

Scores, progress information and performance shown within the portal are intended for practice and guidance only. They do not predict or guarantee a particular examination result, school place or academic outcome.

Users can report a suspected question or answer issue through the portal or by contacting us. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or affects a consumer’s statutory rights.

8. Fair use

Users should use YanBo Practice Portal fairly and only for personal, family or educational practice.

  • Do not try to damage, overload or interfere with the portal.
  • Do not attempt to access another user’s account.
  • Do not copy, resell or redistribute large amounts of content from the portal.
  • Do not use the portal in a way that prevents others from using it properly.

9. Intellectual property

The content, layout, branding, questions, explanations and design of YanBo Practice Portal belong to YANBO LEARNING LTD or its licensors unless otherwise stated.

Users may use the portal for learning and practice, but should not copy, publish, sell or distribute the content without permission.

Downloaded tests and learning materials are for personal, non-commercial educational use. While YanBo Tutor Access is active, tutors may also print and use YanBo-generated materials with pupils they personally teach. This permission does not allow resale, public redistribution, public uploads or sharing a Tutor login. Other commercial reuse and republication are prohibited.

10. Availability of the service

We aim to keep the portal available and working well, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available without interruption.

Maintenance, technical problems, hosting issues or updates may occasionally affect access.

Nothing in this section limits any remedy or statutory right that may apply if we fail to provide a paid service as required by law.

11. Virtual rewards and avatar items

YanBo Coins are virtual learning rewards with no cash value. Avatar items are virtual portal items and do not represent money or property rights.

12. Accounts, reports and misuse

YanBo may suspend or close an account where it reasonably believes there has been account misuse. YanBo may also refuse future registrations or subscriptions associated with account misuse. This does not affect statutory rights relating to payments already made.

Question reports and support submissions must be accurate, relevant and non-abusive.

13. Limitation of responsibility

YanBo Practice Portal is provided as an educational practice tool. It is the responsibility of parents, guardians, carers, teachers and pupils to decide how to use the materials as part of wider 11+ preparation.

We are not responsible for exam decisions, school admissions decisions, or outcomes that depend on external exam providers, schools or local authorities.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or removes any statutory right or remedy available to a consumer.

14. Privacy

Information about how personal data is used is explained in the Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any mandatory protections provided by the law that applies to you or any right you may have to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.

16. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated as YanBo Practice Portal develops. Changes will be published on this page. Where a material change affects an existing paid membership, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

Changes to these Terms do not remove statutory consumer rights.
