Help & Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers about using YanBo Practice Portal, from your first test to Progress, Review, membership and technical support.
Getting started
The essentials for choosing and starting your YanBo practice.
What is YanBo Practice Portal?
YanBo Practice Portal is an online 11+ practice resource covering English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Can I start for free?
Yes. You can create a free account and try selected practice areas before deciding whether a paid plan is right for you.
Which subjects are included?
YanBo includes English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, with focused topics within each subject.
Does YanBo replace school teaching or tutoring?
No. YanBo is a supplementary practice resource designed to support learning alongside school, teaching or tutoring.
Which plan do I need?
Free accounts include selected practice, Progress, Review, YanBo Coins and avatar features. Paid plans add wider practice access and Build a Test. See the public plan summary, or visit Membership after signing in.
Tests and practice
How topic tests and Build a Test help you practise.
How do topic tests work?
Choose a subject and topic, open an available test, answer the questions and submit it to see your score and review the answers. Signed-in results contribute to your progress information.
What is Build a Test?
Build a Test lets eligible paid members create focused tests by subject, topic, difficulty, question count and time limit.
What is the difference between online and printable tests?
Online tests are completed and marked in the portal. Printable tests are downloaded for working on paper. Printable tests are not available when adaptive difficulty is selected.
Can I retry a test?
Yes. Completed topic tests offer a retry option. Build a Test lets you return to the builder and create another test.
Where can I find previous Build a Test attempts?
Signed-in eligible members can open Build a Test History from the Build a Test area.
Results, Progress, Review and YanBo Coins
Understand scores, revisit mistakes and collect learning rewards.
How are scores calculated?
Your score is based on the number of correct answers out of the questions in that test. The percentage shown is the correct-answer proportion rounded to a whole number.
What is Progress?
Progress brings together recent results, success rates and topic performance so signed-in members can see strengths and areas that may need more practice.
What is Review?
Review collects questions that need another look, helping you revisit mistakes and practise weaker areas by subject.
How does a question enter Review?
When a submitted topic-test or Build a Test question is incorrect or unanswered, it can be added to the relevant subject Review page.
How do I remove a question from Review?
Open the relevant subject Review page, find the item and choose “Remove from Review”.
What are YanBo Coins?
YanBo Coins are virtual learning rewards used within the portal. They have no cash value.
How are test coins awarded?
Eligible normal topic tests and completed Build a Test attempts use the same thresholds: scores below 50% earn 0 coins, 50–74% earns 1 coin, 75–89% earns 2 coins, and 90% or above earns 3 coins. A normal topic-test reward is only awarded once for the same test on the same day; a Build a Test reward is tied to the completed attempt.
How do I collect daily coins?
While signed in, use the daily coin button on MyYanBo Home. It awards 3 coins once per day.
Do portal results guarantee an examination outcome?
No. Scores and progress are helpful practice guidance, not a prediction or guarantee of an examination result or school place. Read the Terms and Conditions for the full educational-content wording.
Question quality and support
How to tell us about a question or ask for technical help.
How do you check the questions?
We take great care to review YanBo questions and answers, and we improve the question bank when feedback is received. Examination styles can vary between schools and providers, so portal scores are a guide to progress rather than a guaranteed outcome.
How do I report a suspected question or answer problem?
Use the Report Question option shown with questions and answer reviews while signed in. Add a short note explaining what may need checking so the support team can investigate.
How do I report a technical problem?
Visit Contact or email support@yanbo.co.uk with a short description of what happened.
What information should I include when contacting support?
Include your name, account email, the page or test you were using, what happened, and any useful question ID, test name or screenshot. A parent or guardian should contact us when a child’s personal information is involved.
Accounts and membership
Help with plans, passwords and account information.
What is included in Free, Monthly and Annual plans?

How do I cancel a membership or request a refund?
Cancel through Manage Billing on the Membership page. Cancelling turns off automatic renewal, and paid access normally continues until the end of the period already paid for. Refund requests must be emailed to support@yanbo.co.uk. Requests made within 14 days of payment are handled in accordance with applicable consumer law. After 14 days, payments are normally non-refundable unless required by law. Where a refund is issued, paid access may end immediately. Read the Terms and Conditions for full details.
How do I reset or change my password?
